Today drove to Elstree Studios in Borehamwood, North London from Dad's house as we had tickets to see a recording of 'Are you Smarter than a 10 year old?' , the sky One Quiz show with pretentious 10 year olds who know rather too much for their age, and contestants who could do with getting a few GCSE's.

Our ticket (priority,ha ha!) offered free refreshments on arrival so we looked forward to a bit of lunch...but sadly the refreshments on offer were cold bottled water and tea and coffee!! Mmmm nice. Still at least we had a seat in the big tent holding area while we were waiting to be ushered into the studio. No photos were allowed...oh dear, don't quite know how I got these then!!
Anyway, after nearly 2 hours, we were shown our seats in the huge hangar, in front of quite a small set - it definitely looks bigger on the telly. The warm up man, Andy, was hilarious and ought to have his own show!
At this point we thought we were getting a celebrity special...WRONG...At this point I thought I would see my old idol Noel Edmonds...WRONG...we did however see Dick and Dom. Dom was much shorter than I expected and Dick just looked totally bored with the whole thing. However they did tell us they were recording 50 shows, 3 a day so no wonder they were bored especially with all the retakes they had to do . It was soooo hot in the studio so we were grateful for the odd breaks when they turned the air con on.
We saw half of one show, a whole show and then the first quarter of a third show so we look forward to seeing the 3 finished shows in October. The funny comments of Dom in particular thro the recordings were brilliant, especially during one particular contestant who took about 20 mins to get a simple Age 8 maths question - and she wants to be a teacher!
"If Madonna runs at 8 mph for 3 and a quarter hours, how far does she run?"
It was painful to watch, but the really annoying thing was she came away with 5 grand!!
Our goodie bag consisted of an apple, bag of crisps, kitkat a drink and a car sticker..whooooo!!
A brilliant afternoon though for free, 4 hours in the studio in all and possibly the best bit was that we saw the Big Brother house - from a distance of course and not allowed to take pics either, well not meant to but oops, my phone just happened to turn on!
Sadly, 'Man-boob Man' just walked in front and obscured most of the house with his head, but it was still pretty cool to know that the other side of the wall Luke, Darnell, Rex and Co were all having a good time.
