Consider yourself...

This evening the Debut Youth Theatre was invited to sing in Romsey town centre as part of their Winter Carnival when the Christmas lights are turned on. Mountbatten School Band set the scene with a variety of Christmas carols then about 12 of the children from the Theatre group took to the stage (the back of a truck!) for a 5 minute medley of songs from Oliver. There were several hundred people in the Market Square and as Cameron stood waiting to start on the stage I could see his reaction to the size of the crowd - a simple "WOW"!!
(The big surprise as they warmed up earlier in the local church hall was that Cam was to start the medley with 'Where is Love' as a solo! Not forewarned so he couldn't get nervous and bottle out)
And 'Wow' was our reaction as he just sang his heart out in front of half of Romsey! His solo was followed by a duet with Millie (Dodger) singing 'Consider Yourself' and again they sang so well together as though they have done it for years. Corinne took the lead with Oompah-pah which was fantastic, especially as she was standing in for Hannah who sings it in the production. The whole group did so well, so proud of them all.
Tickets still available for the show 3-6th December at Romsey Plaza Theatre!
You can see the video clip of them performing this evening on Youtube - not very good quality recording unfortunately. Just click on the link!
