PROBLEM UPLOADING PHOTOS - WILL ADD LATER!
Nearly 4 weeks into the school holidays and I can't believe I haven't actually blogged anything yet!
The time as always has passed so quickly and I feel very lucky to have so much time off to do things and time also just to chill and read trashy books!
The first week of the hols was taken up mainly with sorting out the car that Dad had kindly given us, a Citroen C5. Unfortunately after only a couple of days an error showed on the dashboard which resulted in a very expensive problem with the automatic gearbox. Anyway, it's all sorted now and we are getting used to driving it around. So nice to have a car with air con, shame we don't get the weather to use it!!
Had a brilliant day with the Claire, Lucia and Matt in Legoland, dodging a couple of downpours but then getting SOAKED on the raging river ride, Viking Splash. Well, I got soaked much to the merriment of everyone else. Good job I like water rides! Anyway, a brilliant time was had by everyone and we certainly got our money's worth.
By Friday evening I had a niggle in my back which was possibly linked to tidying/cleaning and moving furniture - oh dear, won't be rushing to do that again. I missed out on visiting Dad as planned and just stayed in most of the time trying desperately to get rid of the pain and deciding that Rob is amazing with the pain he puts up with .
The second week of the hols Cam and I went down to Lepe Beach with Louise, Harry,Ollie and George just to pretend we were having some decent weather. It stayed dry, but it wasn't exactly boiling hot. The boys had a good time in the rock pools and running around. The grown ups enjoyed a hot drink and bread pudding!
Another trip out was to Intech in Winchester. Took Holli to keep Cameron company and they had great fun trying out the interactive exhibits. We also visited the Planetarium and learnt about the imminent shooting stars (sadly didn't see them this week as so cloudy, altho actually I went to bed!!).
Tried again to visit Dad for a weekend but on the Friday, Cam woke in tears with a temperature, sore throat and complained of aches and pains. Our immediate thoughts were 'oink, oink', but even after just 24 hours he felt a lot better and so we soon dismissed the big S/F! By Sunday afternoon he was absolutely fine so we met the Parkers in the New Forest and spent a lovely sunny afternoon playing, reading the papers and generally talking Ibiza!!
Had a fab day in Mudeford with Pauline last week on the first really good sunny day(we missed a couple when Cam was poorly). even managed a couple of swims in the sea. Was freezing getting in but so worth it and was great fun with the giant rubber rings. At last a bit of real summer!
Finally made it to Dad's last Thursday, just visiting for a few days with Cameron as Dan and Rob were working. IKEA proving to be a great hit this summer! It was lovely to spend time with him and of course see Jane, my sister and also catch up with Joanne, an old school friend, who has a daughter the same age as Cam. They always play so well together considering they mayve only see each other once or twice a year and loved it when Joanne spotted a hedgehog in Dad's garden.
So that's it so far... a great holiday and we still have our annual trip to Ibiza and the Hotel Club Don Toni to look forward to - can't wait, 2 weeks of sunshine, good food and good company!
