A wish fulfilled...

No, I haven't been on Jim'll fix it or had a present from Noel Edmunds, but today I went to the Cumberland Pencil Museum where they make pencils...whoo hoo!!! It has been a joke for 20 years that I wanted to go and no one would go with me, but today Cameron joined me...and most interesting it was! Honest!

I learned about the 'War' pencil that stored a map inside it to help prisoners escape and saw the World's longest pencil. I also did some colouring too!

After that excitement we drove up to Ashness Bridge, the most photographed bridge in the UK I reckon and also took in the views over Derwent Water from 'Surprise View'.

A last drive over the Honister pass and round to Whinlatter Visitor Centre for a final walk which was more strenuous than we remembered! However all the climbing was worth it when a RED squirrel ran across in front of us. So cute!

And that was our holiday...an absolutely brilliant week which brought back so many happy memories that we were able to share with the boys. Everything about the week was great and it was the BEST way to celebrate my birthday!
