It's the Millenium Cone, built for some reason or other for the Millenium. I rather liked it but it was strange.
Christchurch was a very English town with a river running through the centre, red phone and post boxes, trams, a pretty market square and a few old buildings. The tram ride lasted about 10 minutes...we could have walked quicker, but it was all part of the NZ experience!
Once again it was a beautiful sunny day and we were able to lunch out on the terrace of the Arts Centre. I loved the Arts Centre....loads of rooms dedicated to local crafts people selling their wares, including the most delicious fudge. Bought various gifts here as it was good to support the local people. Lunch was a delicious coffee as always and a panini in glorious sunshine. It felt very warm indeed.
I really liked Christchurch and would have liked to stay longer, but we had a long journey back to Nelson(about 5 hours).
We did however have time to go the Museum for a short while, where Dan showed his new found way of mounting a horse......
Thank goodness he has no intention of taking part in the Grand National!!!
