We are sailing...

A leisurely breakfast(yes, eating again!) in the centre of Wellington at Mojo's - highly recommended if you are ever that way!

Early afternoon we deposited our car at the Bluebridge ferry terminal and boarded the ferry bound for Picton in the South Island. Took 'Kwells' to be on the safe side in case my breakfast wanted to show itself again but I really neednt have bothered...the water was like a mill pond and the scenery going through the Marlborough Sounds was very picturesque, tho it was rather cold out on deck! The Wild and The Pacifier were shown on board free of charge which was a bonus and the kids were quite happy amusing themselves. The crossing took about 3 and a half hours and as we approached Picton it was beginning to go dark.

A couple of hours journey by car along dark windy roads (we had to imagine the views!) and we finally reached my sister Valerie's house. There was a welcoming committee of Val and Rich, Anna(my niece) and her husband Marco (Isabella was asleep) and the dogs Lulu and Lucy and Willy the cat...all very excited at our arrival!

The house was lovely and warm with a log fire and Val had prepared a yummy meal for us too. Unfortunately Claire reacted very quickly to the animals and had to make a hasty departure after our dinner.

It was fantastic to be at Val's after wanting to come out here for so many years. The house is beautiful and our 'quarters' are what is soon to be their Bed and Breakfast business.

The house from the back garden..the lovely big window has this view(zoomed in a bit!!)....
